About Jessie

A Major Harmony is owned and operated by Jessie Taylor, a violinist of over 30 years and singer/songwriter. A Major Harmony is the culmination of Jessie's musical background, creativity and versatility with her instruments.

Her musical accomplishments began in orchestra class throughout grade/high school, participating in All-City Orchestra, Regional Orchestra, and Solo and Ensemble events. At age 13 she played with the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra making the front page of the Beacon in the Virginian Pilot for being their youngest member at the time.

Her accomplishments include recording studio session work and live accompaniment with artists from Virginia Beach to San Diego, fronting an original band in San Diego and cover band on Hatteras Island, playing with Symphonicity, and owning and operating Cape Hatteras Music Academy.

Outside of playing for weddings, special events and restaurant gigs, Jessie also teaches private violin, viola, ukulele & guitar lessons. In 2022, Jessie was awarded a grant to run the Hatteras Island Community Strings program offering group ukulele, violin and guitar classes to children on Hatteras Island. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two high energy labs, doing yoga, gardening and off-grid tent camping in the off season!
