Jessie discussed song choices with us, offered her expert opinion, and made beautiful, memorable music for our ceremony and reception.

My wife, Jessica and I chose Jessie Taylor based on an initial recommendation from our wedding planner Christy Ethridge of Socially Serene Events. After going to Jessie's website, listening to her audio samples and viewing her song selection we knew we wanted Jessie to sing at our beach wedding in Nags Head AND our brunch reception immediately following the wedding at Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe!
We were not disappointed in ANY way - we selected songs for Jessie to play both before and during our wedding, along with creating a playlist for her to play during our reception at Basnight's. She was adored by all of our guests and received countless compliments (even several days after the wedding was over). A favorite was her hauntingly beautiful interpretation of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah which actually brought more than one attendee to tears during the reception as it was so moving.
Being huge Beatles fans - we requested her to play the Beatles' I Want To Hold Your Hand for our wedding intro first dance, and it was such a fun version.
We were also lucky enough to see her perform at a local venue on the Monday following our wedding - where she actually incorporated violin with her guitar and vocals and we can attest to the quality of her violin playing as well.
In conclusion - we highly recommend Jessie - she is a tremendous talent and an absolute pleasure to work with in every way!

Jessie from A Major Harmony was delightful! She did such an amazing job for us at our wedding. Our ceremony was outside at the Whalehead Club in the Outer banks and she played the violin for both our ceremony and cocktail hour. We received so many compliments about the music and our guest enjoyed her very much. She is so talented and on top of that so sweet! Jessie was so easy to work with from the beginning planning to our wedding day. I actually hadn't even given her a few of the songs until the day prior and basically just told her that I trusted her- she did an amazing job. In addition her pricing was so reasonable which was why we had her come to the cocktail hour as well. I would recommend her to anybody!

Jessie exceeded our expectations! She was responsive, accommodating and had multiple phone calls with us prior to the wedding to play samples for us and assist us with ideas for the music selection. When I walked out in the Elizabethan Gardens with my father to get ready for our walk down the aisle i could hear her beautiful violin and it triggered the ceremony was actually real at that moment. She sent us multiple recordings of a particular song we wanted in different formats to help us choose what instrument we wanted. We ended up with the solo violin and were so pleased! My husband and I were married 4/18/2015 at Jennette's Pier and Jessie & Patrick did both our ceremony music as well as the cocktail hour. They were amazing to work with, always staying in contact very professional. They even learned how to play Ed Sheeran's "Thinking out Loud" for me to walk down the aisle to and Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off" for us to walk out to! I couldn't believe how quickly they learned the songs and how great they sounded! The only thing I regret is that we were unable to hear them play during the cocktail hour. I wish I could go back and attend my own wedding just to be a part of it!

My mother came across Jessie and her music at the Outer Banks Wedding Expo last year. She sent me her CD and I instantly loved her violin and violin-oke. I ended up waiting till just a few months before the wedding to see if we were going to be able to 'splurge' on a live musician for the ceremony and I am SO glad we did. Jessie was amazing to work with and you could tell through her emails and questionnaires that she genuinely wanted to get the know us a couple to learn our style of music for the day. Her selections were eclectic -- everything from Sinatra to the Beatles to the Lumineers. She even learned an extra song for our Recessional that wasn't on her usual list. I would highly recommend her for not only a wedding ceremony, but reception cocktail hours and similar. She is amazing!

It’s just five days shy of a month from when my husband and I got married, with Jessie Taylor from A Major Harmony providing the music. A musician was one of the last things we committed to for our ceremony but it was such a great decision to book her. I had done a lot of research and still wasn’t sure what do about a musician until the OBX Wedding Expo weekend. My mom and I got to meet Jessie and she even provided us with a CD of sample music and a discount offer if we booked with her after meeting at the expo. Seeing how we were arranging our Outer Banks beach wedding from Ohio I had to wait to get back to Ohio to share Jessie’s music with my now husband.
Once we booked Jessie she was a pleasure to work with. Jessie was very flexible as to a few song requests we made that were not on her list. One important thing that we were concerned with was projection of the music on the beach, but Jessie has her own portable amplifier (battery powered so no extension cords required!) Jessie was so sweet and very helpful with all the musical planning for the wedding which was a big relief for us up here in Ohio.
When the big day arrived I felt very secure that Jessie would perform everything she promised. She sent me an e-mail the day before just to go over all the details one more time, very nice for someone like me with a type A personality. Jessie arrived, set up her equipment, and got straight to work. I happened to be in a bedroom facing the beach while finishing up getting ready and was able to hear her playing on the beach. It was so relaxing and all our guests commented on how good she was. The first comment at the reception was that our music was great, “It was like listening to the radio”. We were blessed with all the vendors we worked with for our wedding and there is no exception when it comes to Jessie Taylor. The only thing I would change if I could would have been to be able to spend a few moments with Jessie on the day of the ceremony and to have been able to listen to her music more. Jessie was gone before we got to personally thank her for her hard work and great performance. All in all the she helped set the tone for our ceremony with her amazing musical talents and we are so appreciative for that.

It was such a blessing to come across Jessie for our wedding music. We were looking for something non-traditional and different from a DJ, and I had almost given up until I found her online. While on an impromptu visit to the Inn on Pamlico Sound, to visit the venue for my wedding, I ran into Jessie Donnelly. She politely asked if I had given any thought to having live music at my wedding - of which I declined. After a few days of thought and actually getting to experience the area, I felt that music would add a very personal touch to the evening. I called the inn and was able to get Jessie’s contact information. She quickly responded to my message and from there, I simply had to follow her lead. Jessie's professionalism and calm nature was abounding throughout the entire planning process, allowing for a stress free day for me and my husband. There was a scheduling conflict within the venue, which created an unplanned shift to our party, but Jessie made the transition seamless and kept the entertainment peacefully flowing the entire night. I would happily recommend her services to anyone who is planning an event within the Hatteras area. She is courteous, friendly, professional, and her musical talents are remarkable.

Jessie was in the process of moving when we were planning our wedding and not only remained very easy to stay in contact with, but still managed to send recordings so that we knew what to expect. Planning an out of state wedding can be a bit chaotic, however Jessie really put our minds at ease and hearing her recordings got us even more excited for the big day! When our song choices were more contemporary, she recommended that we try the violin-oke versions which we were not sure that we would like. Once we looked at her website we decided to meet with her in person. Being from Ohio we had limited time and availability- Jessie was more than accommodating when we visited NC to find time to meet. After meeting and speaking with Jessie we were certain that she was the musician for our special day. Jessie is one of the most remarkable individual/musicians I have ever met (and I have met a lot being in the wedding industry). Her desire to meet our every need was more than we could ask for. She was/is professional, dependable and her music is phenomenal. She played our ceremony music and performed during cocktail hour. All of our guests, including Tim and I, were more than impressed with her music capabilities. She did it all from Guitar, to vocals to the violin. There were specific songs we wanted to hear during cocktail hour and Jessie played them all. She even went the extra mile to learn some pieces that were not on her play list. Needless to say she surpassed all of our expectations. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking music, vocals etc. Thank you Jessie for everything you did for Tim and I. We can not tell you how thankful we are to have had you as a part of our special day!

Jessie..We really enjoyed your performance at Eric and Erica's wedding...the cocktail hour was a low key easy listening hour (good music selections)...which was great!! Your violin performance during the beach ceremony was perfect...what a beautiful addition to a beautiful place!! A number of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music and how talented you are. When we met with you in the spring to finalize the details and had the opportunity to see you perform, we were all blown away by your talent. Jessie played at our wedding ceremony classical music on violin and played the guitar and sang contemporary music during cocktail hour. It is amazing how talented she is and was able to offer such a unique service for our wedding day. All of our guests commented on how wonderful and talented you are. I first heard you play A Thousand Years as my grandparents processed down the aisle and it evoked such overwhelming emotion. The way you played I Wanna Hold Your Hand as I walked down the aisle nearly made me cry (and I know it brought tears to the eyes of some of our guests). I cannot find the words to describe how HIGHLY I recommend you to other brides for their special day. Having live music from such a gifted artist was the finishing touch to our ceremony and cocktail hour. I am so incredibly grateful for how flexible, easy-going and easy to work with you are. Sending rough recordings of songs so I could hear first-hand what would be played really helped me imagine exactly how the ceremony would play out. Last minute changes to the repertoire didn’t faze you in the slightest and all of the pieces were still performed to perfection. With how hectic and stressful wedding planning can be for a bride, this is a rare and invaluable trait to find in a vendor.

Jessie played the violin amazingly. She warmed the church up by playing prior the ceremony as our family was arriving. The other great thing she did for our wedding was music selection. I didn't know what I wanted and asked her to decide as she sees appropriate. All the music selected was beautiful and perfect. I got to sit back and enjoy the wonderful music surprise at our wedding.

My daughter Lowrey Raines was married to Christopher Moyer on the beach near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on August 2 at 4:30 p.m. When my daughter said she wanted to get married at Cape Hatteras but they were thinking of not having any music, I was shocked. I’m a musician and have played for many weddings myself. I couldn’t imagine a wedding—even at the beach—without music. After several e-mails and phone calls, I finally met up with Jessie Taylor Donnelly, and I am so glad I did. Her music was beautiful. She had to play 10 to 15 minutes extra before the ceremony because we were late getting started. (She was, of course, punctual.) She learned an old hymn that wasn’t in her repertoire (“The Lone, Wild Bird”) for the occasion. And she played her music in the sunshine with a temperature of 86 degrees. What a true blessing to have had Jessie and her exquisite violin provide the music for my daughter’s wedding! Thank you again, Jessie.

Jessie played her violin during our wedding outdoors on Monday. She was amazing. She knew exactly what to do. She is very precise in her performance. Many of our guests said that it felt like a fairy tale wedding. It was the perfect touch that tied the whole wedding together.
