Jessie Taylor, violinist of 34 years, launched A Major Harmony in 2012 after she and her husband officially made Hatteras Island home.

 

Since 2005, Jessie has worked with hundreds of clients which span from her hometown of Virginia Beach, VA to San Diego, CA (2007-2011). Outside of performing at weddings, Jessie has played with multiple musicians in professional and rock band settings, worked behind the scenes in recording studios, played in the symphony, written and recorded her own songs and more. A Major Harmony brings a little bit of each former life experience to her services, offering a wide variety of musical genres amidst her Solo Violin, Violin-Oke and Guitar & Vocals style.

A Major Harmony has expanded over the years to include musician colleagues Stacey Walters, Becki Rea and Tim Jenkins. With their inclusion, they provide String Duo, String Trio, String Quartet (newly added 2026) and Fingerstyle Guitar options. Each instrument combination offers an elegant and classy feel for all event types.  Special song requests can often be accommodated as well, offering a signature touch for your special day.​​​ Services range from Wedding & Elopement Ceremonies, Proposals, Cocktail Hour, Dinner Music, Receptions and Music for Renters.

Alongside performing, music lessons are offered on Hatteras Island to children as young as 2 and adults of any age. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jessie has cultivated a method of teaching that supports the development of a budding musician.
